International Sign Training, Siena, Italy

Description
This special training is for you to learn more about International Sign (IS). During the two days you are introduced to the basics of International Sign, some theory as well as practice. The training is for those signers who already know a national sign language, but want to practice and learn more about IS.

During the training you are expected to work in groups, understand learning strategies, know the basic ethical and social rules of working with international Deaf communities, and be sensitive to cultural differences and issues. Next to the theories on IS you are invited to practice, such as how to show and understand visuals.

Upon completion of this training, you will know common IS vocabulary related to everyday life and are able to communicate in routine situations on familiar topics. You will also be able to use phrases and sentences to describe your family and other people, living conditions, education, current and recent work.
