How (not) to interpret remotely?

How can you aim for the best quality of interpreting services, now that you are not able to be physically present onsite? Have you thought about internet speed, quality audio & video, a liability disclaimer? There are many things to consider!

The AIIC Task Force on Distance Interpreting (TFDI) has published comprehensive guidelines on how to interpret from home in extremis during Covid-19 pandemic. Check also the web page with all information produced by TFDI.

Several spoken language interpreter colleagues have published very useful web pages with recommendations on headsets, audio and video during a meeting.

There are also specific guidelines published for Zoom meetings for interpreters, and deaf and hearing participants and how to make MS Teams work for Deaf staff.
