Topic
This training is Part II of the training 'Interpreting from and to English as a 3rd Language' and based on the lessons learned in Part I. Participants will have in depth practice sessions to enhance their acquired skills to work between English and their national sign language supported by theoretical frameworks. Topics will include vocabulary building, use of synonyms, idioms and expressions, pronunciation, and correct phrasing. An increased emphasis will be on team and linguistic strategies to fine-tune the interpretation. Participants are encouraged to register as a team to build up your team and interpreting skills to work with English as a 3rd language.
During the practice sessions you will work from spoken English to your national sign language and vice versa. You are kindly requested to bring video materials in your national sign language to use for practice materials. Once you have registered you will receive information on how to select and provide these video materials.

Participants have participated and successfully completed Part I of this training.
Language
The language of the training is English.
Certificate
Upon completion and full attendance of the training participants will receive a certificate of attendance. The course is submitted for credits to the Dutch Registry for Sign Language Interpreters (RTGS).

Coffee breaks and snacks are included. Participants will need to organize their own lunch, travel and accommodation.
Registration is on a first come, first served basis. A total of 16 places are available.

Confirmation
The training will take place if 10 participants have registered. As soon as 10 participants have registered, you will receive a confirmation by email. We advise not to book your accommodation or travel until you have received an email that the training is confirmed.
Cancellation policy
before 1 July: 50% of the registration fee will be refunded (excluding bank transfer costs)
after 1 July: No refund
