Topic
This foundational training is designed for deaf and hearing Romanian Sign Language interpreters who are developing their core interpreting skills. Participants will practice the basic techniques of interpreting, such as listening/watching actively, transferring a message faithfully, and working with everyday topics like introductions, appointments, and simple conversations.
The training also introduces practical strategies for handling situations where the message is unclear or too fast, and for asking appropriately when something needs to be repeated or clarified. Participants will learn the basics of working together as deaf–hearing interpreting teams: preparing for an assignment, supporting each other during an interpretation, and giving each other friendly feedback.
Through simple, hands-on exercises in a relaxed learning environment, interpreters build confidence step by step. The training is delivered in International Sign and offers a welcoming space where deaf and hearing participants learn from and with each other.
Participant’s profile
You are a Romanian Sign Language interpreter (deaf or hearing) and you would like to enhance your interpreting competences.
Language
The language of the training is International Sign.
Certificate
Upon completion and full attendance of the training participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
Registration
Early bird by 15 November: 100 euros
Regular 16 November - 15 December: 110 euro
Late 16 December - 1 February: 125 euros
Coffee breaks and snacks are included. Participants organize their own travel and accommodation. Included in the registration fee and the training are handouts and reading materials which you will receive at the course.
Registration is on a first come, first served basis. A total of 16 places are available.

Cancellation policy
before 15 November 2026: 50% of the registration fee will be refunded (excluding bank transfer costs)
after 15 November: 2026 No refund
