Presentation "Sign language interpretation during the pandemic: opportunities and responsibilities"

On 3 December SCIC, the Directorate Generale for Interpretation at the European Commission, hosted an online event to exchange experiences about how universities are coping with the challenges of virtual training (and testing) which they were forced to implement, due to the COVID pandemic. I was honored to be invited to present. My presentation entitled "Sign language interpretation during the pandemic: opportunities and responsibilities" discussed the responsibilities that we have as sign language interpreters to provide the best quality interpretation, also during a pandemic. And zooming in on considerations of how representation of sign language interpreters at (public) events on screen are done.

The SCIC online event was interpreted into International Sign by SCIC accredited International Sign interpreters and SCIC IS interpreter mentees. You can watch my presentation here (starts at 01:45).
